Questions, Answers and Prices

....................................................................................................................

How much does this tour cost?

  1. 1. Cost of Israel tour (from Oklahoma City) - $3895*.

  2. 2. Cost for only the land portion of the tour, if you want to book your own flights - $2695.

  3. 3. Cost for a singles supplement for the Israel portion - $795.

How does the cost for this trip compare to other ministry tours?   Among four of the largest ministries who regularly schedule Holy Land tours, the average 2012 cost per-day from New York is about $410.  The lowest cost among them is about $390 per day.  We have decided to match that low figure.

Does this price include everything?  Our cost includes everything except daily lunches.  All of this is spelled out in the downloadable brochure and reservation form.

Aside from price, how is this tour different than others?  There are a number of differences, but four main ones:

1.  This is a specialized Gospels Tour. Our primary focus in on the life and teachings of Jesus.  Sure, you will see many sites that are interesting from an Old Testament or archeological point of view, but our tour is almost entirely about Christ.  Our goal is to put you right in the footprints of Jesus, for the purpose of adding to both your understanding and your experience with Him.

2.  Two guides for the price of one!  To begin, there is Randall Christy, the president of Gospel Station Network.  Then there is Dr. Gary Crossland (photo above), a conservative Gospels scholar, and the author of the book, The Merged Gospels (right), the most literal translation and detailed comparison between the English text of the four canonical Gospels.  Next, there is Mike Libdeh, an Israeli, and one of the only men in the entire country who is licensed by the Israeli government to go absolutely anywhere.  He also speaks four languages, including English, Hebrew, Arabic and Greek.

3.  Your friends are going!

Everyone likes to travel with their friends, and that’s what will happen here, since many of those in GSN audience will also be going on this tour.

4.  The Merged Gospels Walking Guide!  All of our travelers will receive a copy of this book, written by Dr. Crossland.  In it are detailed descriptions of literally every place on the Merged Gospels itinerary.  You will be well-informed about every site that we visit in advance.  This walking guide also doubles as a notebook that will help you jot down and remember what you learned on your trip.

I’ve been to Israel before.  Will this trip offer anything different?

Because ours is so different than other tours, our assumption is that you will see much more on a Merged Gospels Tour that you probably missed on other tours.

Is it safe traveling to Israel?  Yes, Israel is very safe.  Thousands of tour groups go the Holy Land every year, and tourism from the United States is actually growing in Israel.  In fact, according to the American Israeli Cooperative Enterprise, since 1948 only one tourist from anywhere in the world has died from a terrorist attack in Israel. That happened in 1983.  Compare that to how many people have died from terrorism outside of Israel, including in the US, and then you realize just how safe Israel is.  In general, travel in Israel is as safe or safer than traveling in the United States.  Crime rates are well below those found in most other western countries.  You can walk around the cities and towns at night without fear, as mugging and drunken violence is unknown.  Overall, Israel offers a level of safety and freedom not found in many other countries.  Occasionally, there are a few skirmishes along the country’s border, but these are very far away from where we will be traveling.  Moreover, the response of the Israeli military is very swift and imposing.  Virtually all problems along the borders are over in a few days.  Other websites that deal with this subject are found here and here.

Can I purchase insurance?  Yes.  Insurance can be purchased directly from our booking agent (Pilgrim Tours) at any time prior to your travels.  Click the “Travel Insurance” link above left.

How soon do I have to get my deposit in?  Space is limited, so we recommend that you pay your deposit of $300 as soon as possible.  If you ultimately decide not to go, you can get a $200 refund on your deposit outside of 90 days before the tour.

Is this a hot or strenuous tour? There is very little hiking, and the days will end while you still have energy to spare.  The country will be very lush with mild temperatures.

Could there be any problem with getting medical assistance?  Israel has more doctors per capita than any country in the Middle East.  This is generally not a problem.

*We always price our tours based on conditions that are current at the time that the tour is negotiated with the airlines.  However, prior to the time that you make your final payment, there may be a few conditions that could slightly change the cost of your flights.  Although this is rare, it creates what we call “flight deviation fees”.  If this happens, you will be immediately notified of any changes, and subsequently any options available to you.
